Semglee® (insulin glargine-yfgn) is a long-acting human insulin analog indicated to improve glycemic control in adults and pediatric patients with diabetes mellitus. It contains insulin glargine, a recombinant DNA insulin analog that provides a consistent, 24-hour basal insulin level with once-daily dosing.

Semglee is a biosimilar to Lantus® (insulin glargine), offering a clinically equivalent and more affordable treatment option. It is interchangeable with Lantus under FDA approval, meaning pharmacists can substitute Semglee for Lantus without requiring prescriber authorization (subject to state laws).
