Product Description:
Jardiance® is a prescription medication that contains empagliflozin, a sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor, used to improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Empagliflozin works by preventing the reabsorption of glucose by the kidneys, allowing excess glucose to be eliminated through the urine. In addition to lowering blood glucose, Jardiance has been shown to reduce the risk of cardiovascular death and heart failure hospitalization in patients with type 2 diabetes and established cardiovascular disease.
